Dr David Lawrence, Associate professor at Kingston University, and Research Fellow and curator for the London Transport Museum
Dr David Lawrence FRGS is associate professor at Kingston University, London, and Research Fellow and curator for the London Transport Museum. He writes about, curates and photographs design, architecture and culture, with a particular interest in places where design, people and movement meet. David studied the history of architecture, with particular reference to emerging urbanism and how infrastructure adapts to help shape cities. He has been involved in projects in Hackney Wick, the city of London and west London, and been a consultant to Art on the Underground. David is the author of British Rail Designed 1948-1997, OMNIBUS: A social history of the London Bus (2014), A Logo for London (2013), Food on the Move: the extraordinary world of the motorway service area (2010), Bright Underground Spaces (2008), and Underground Architecture (1994).
